About Darkei Avoseinu

Congregation Darkei Avoseinu ("Darkei") is a small but vibrant community of Jews who mostly emanate from the former Soviet Union and who have chosen to embrace anew their Torah roots. Most of our members are in their 20's and yearly 30's and are just starting their families while continuing to strive to learn and grow under the leadership of Rabbi Pinchus Bobrovsky.

Darkei is conveniently located on the corner of Avenue S and East 7th Street, in Flatbush, Brooklyn. Darkei's origins go back to the late 1990's when several "guys" in their early twenties got together and decided to create an environment for young adults much like themselves, the vision was to create a nurturing atmosphere where people would come and participate in weekly religious services and grow together as a small closely knit community.

We have a great location situated in the middle of a diverse Jewish community, with Jews of great variety of origins, from Russian, Syrian and Lithuanian backgrounds.

Our purpose is to target and teach the largely unaffiliated and unlearned Jews of Russian dissent. To provide people with a link and a proper outlet to learn about their ancestral traditions which were severed during the intolerable Communist regime.

We welcome all with open arms who want to participate in our Congregation's services. For more information please refer to our Schedule tab.
